Now that you have an idea that there are many important men and women who contributed to the field of psychology, let's consider the development of this field. Psychology is a relatively modern discipline, but it has been around longer than you might think.
Please visit the link above 'Timeline' and spend at least 15 minutes scrolling through this overview of how modern psychology has developed over the past decades.
Click on the dates to read more about events that particularly interest you.
Add three events you find particularly interesting to your notes under the subheading Activity 4, and be prepared to discuss them in class, why they interest you, and what you learned that you didn't know before, and any questions you have.

Philip Zimbardo
Remember this figure from 'Who's Who?' He is Philip Zimbardo, the host of the Discovering Psychology series. You will see a fair bit of Zimbardo throughout this course, and in our unit on Sociocultural Psychology. He is very well known for his controversial work on obedience and power.
